Job description
The successful candidate will possess a degree from an accredited institution, as well as a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Purchasing field. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is not necessary, but will be beneficial. Candidate shall have a keen eye for detail plus the ability to work in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment. Candidate will also possess excellent communication skills (both oral and written), good problem solving skills, and strong organization skills.
Responsibilities to include (but not limited to):
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with supplier
- Prepare requests for quotes
- Research new sources for parts
- Create purchase orders through our MRP system (SAP Business One) based on production schedules and requirements
- Expedite purchase orders as needed, keeping external and internal customers informed of status
- Assist other departments (receiving, accounting, engineering) as necessary to resolve any issues with suppliers and parts
