General Description: The Construction Business Developer is a sales management position at Landscape Development Inc. (LDI), responsible for developing and pursuing new accounts and producing accurate and timely bid estimates. The Construction Business Developer reports to the Lead Business Developer.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assemble 2 year revenue plan that meets required divisional goals
  • Submit Estimating Information Sheets (EIS) forms and communicates within department as appropriate to create accurate bids
  • Work with DL on book and burn requirements to achieve operational efficiency
  • Work with DL on book and burn final margin before sending to client
  • Manage bid volume to not exceed estimating capacity
  • Create and/or finalize proposals for existing and new clients
  • Review completed bids for accuracy and scope, compiling for final DL approval
  • Generate pre-call planners and closing strategies for each bid
  • Submit accurate company bids in a timely and effective manner. Meet deadlines of requesting party
  • Reviewing and negotiating duration schedules and budgets prior to final sign-off of contact
  • Understanding and working knowledge of contractual legal language
  • Update CRM and revenue pipeline data weekly
  • Frequent customer contact to discuss project and make changes/corrections as needed
  • Communicate to appropriate parties any problem areas and work to find immediate resolution
  • Represents company at various events, organizations, and associations for the purpose of building relationships that lead to new business. Acts in capacity of company representative and develops community ties to enhance public image and brand of the company
  • Maintains positive relationships with other companies in the industry.

Skills/Abilities

  • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings, as required
  • Read, interpret, and follow construction plans
  • Understand and carry out instructions to complete work assignments correctly
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other employees
  • Understand P&L statements, pipeline reports
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as organizational, and time management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment
  • Flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Familiarity with MacOS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-starter, motivated to meet monthly goals with minimal supervision
  • Solve problems quickly and completely
  • Spanish is helpful, but also not required.

Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications

  • 2-3 years of landscape construction or related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, related field or commensurate work experience
  • Proven track record within the industry
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel in order to see clients, explore new markets, attend conventions or training.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
