Kramerbooks is an independent bookstore located in the heart of Dupont Circle. For more than 40 years, Kramers has been providing residents from DC and further afield with a spectacularly curated book selection and a book-related events program.

This environment is fun, fast-paced, engaging and challenging all at the same time. You must be able to communicate well, dynamically interact with our customers, adapt to the ever-changing world of books, and work independently, yet in unison with your Kramerbooks team.

Our booksellers provide exceptional customer service to our guests, drive sales, assist with events, and manage inventory. There is a clear career pathway for booksellers, from entry-level to upper management.

To be successful in this role, you'll have customer service experience, be comfortable engaging customers in conversations about books, have a thirst for knowledge, and be motivated to work with the book store team to achieve challenging sales goals. It's especially helpful if you are a bit of an expert in a particular genre!

We are open Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. We hire for part-time positions based upon your knowledge, experience, and availability. Booksellers hired for this position on a part-time basis, would work somewhere between 15-25 hours depending on your availability and the business needs. There are flexible schedules for candidates looking for morning, afternoon, and evening evening shifts.
