The Bookkeeper/Office Manager will handle all the accounting needs of the organizations including preparation of financial statements and quarterly and annual statements. Most of your time will be spent working on the accounting and office management for the brokerage office, which will include accrual accounting. We have 5 other smaller businesses that will require monthly upkeep on their cash basis books, with not very many expenses or income and will not take up much of your time. We also have one additional business that is cash basis agricultural accounting that does carry quite a bit in expenses at this moment in time, and will require financial applications. This one will take up the remainder of your time. Agricultural accounting is not required but is a plus, we do have 2 CPA’s we can utilize for complicated journal entry questions. They will report directly to the Chief of Staff of the organization and will engage outside resources to prepare financial statements and tax returns.

SALARY: 65-75k DOE + Bonus

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all functions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements.
  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
  • Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes.
  • Verify and enter all billings into dual systems.
  • Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns and 1099’s.
  • Prepare summary feedback of financial statements variances to budget.
  • Order office supplies, manage office inventory, and monitor office expenses for the brokerage.
  • Manage financials for additional businesses.
  • Manage financial applications for agricultural business.
  • Prepare quarterly royalty reports and monthly commission reports.
  • Manage all functions related to employee and contractor contracts in conjunction with HR.
  • Manage Wage Verifications from 3rd parties.
  • Work with CPA regarding complex entries for tax purposes.
  • Work with VA to complete payroll and commissions payments twice monthly.

Job Requirements

  • EXPERT in excel and/or google sheets
  • MUST HAVE accrual accounting experience
  • Agricultural accounting a plus
  • Must have Quickbooks Online Experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite/Google Suite

This position does require the employee to come into the office off Steck daily.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
