SUMMARY: The major responsibility of the Bookkeeper is the day-to-day operations of the Chamber’s accounts payable, accounts receivable, personnel record keeping, etc…

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Accounts Payable and Receivable, Member Billings, file online Sales Tax Returns, Division of Election PAC Returns, check registers, write and understand financial reports, and any other accounting duties.

· Handle all bookkeeping for BLU-PAC and the Golden Bell Foundation, sister companies of the Boca Raton Chamber.

· Maintain employee insurance, health and pension plans.

· Maintain service contracts.

· Manage payroll internally which is outsourced to a third-party PEO.

· Manage the Chamber’s 401K Plan which is outsourced to a third-party administrator.

· Answer phones and perform other duties as the need arises.

· Perform other duties as may be assigned by the President.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and have a knowledge of the role of the Chamber of Commerce within the community. This individual should have knowledge of all phases of business office management and possess computer skills including accounting programs. The responsibilities listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred. Very broad experience in all phases of accounting

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business correspondence, contracts, and statements. Ability to write and understand financial reports.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic & complex bookkeeping skills. Ability to analyze and understand financial forms and accounting reports. Ability to write financial reports.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability and understanding of basic management tactics. Ability to work well without supervision. Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

SOFTWARE SKILLS: Must have high level of understanding of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel. Should have working knowledge of other Microsoft software like Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. The Chamber has a specialized Membership Database Software, Atlas, and the candidate should be able to self-learn, and in time, master this software.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Desire and ability to be a team player. Understanding of the goals of the Chamber and how it operates to fulfill those goals. Knowledge of the Boca Raton community. Ability to manage people. Professional appearance is required

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
