Body Shop Advisor (Le Mars, Iowa)
Role: Full-Time Body Shop Estimator
Hours/Shift: 7 am -5 pm Monday - Friday (weekends off)
The primary responsibility of the Body Shop Advisor is to provide support and customer service on behalf of the dealer and the Body Shop department. Assists in the evaluation of damage to customer vehicles for repair services. Builds and maintains good relations with the customers to encourage their loyalty and obtain their recommendations.
Primary Job Duties
Welcomes arriving customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Answers telephone calls quickly, and in a polite and professional manner.
Jointly with the body shop, provides a high quality repair service.
Handles customer complaints as soon as possible, according to the dealer’s instructions.
Builds and maintains good working relations with insurance adjusters.
Assists the Body Shop Manager with communications to insurance companies, office personnel, customers and Body Shop employees.
Helps complete work orders for vehicles brought into the body shop for repairs; obtains the customer’s signature.
Follows up on orders sent to the parts department, to ensure that the parts are available.
Helps prepare invoices for the work performed from the work orders.
Delivers the vehicle to the customer.
For warranty work, follows the appropriate procedures.
Sees to the cleanliness of the work areas and customer waiting rooms.
Maintains a professional appearance.
Performs other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions.
Desired Education & Qualifications
High school diploma with post high school education preferred in the technical field.
5-6 years of prior customer service experience desired with 2-3 years in the Automotive Industry required (body shop, parts and/or service).
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to operate the CCCone management system for all shop operations.
Able to effectively interact with co-workers, peers, customers and employees to resolve issues.
Must have the ability to interface with customers in order to facilitate body shop repair processes to meet customers’ needs.
Ability to operate basic office equipment (i.e. phone, copiers, fax, printers, etc.)
Knowledge of basic Computer programs and operation (Microsoft Word and Excel)
Exercise discretion and solid judgment.
Possess time management skills.
Detail-oriented and able to plan and carryout projects independently.
Effectively interface with all levels of employees and management.
Quality and safety-conscious.
Must be able to demonstrate professional behavior in all aspects of the position.
Ability to learn how to coordinate parts orders for both OEM and internal use
Must be quality and safety conscious and maintain safe and sanitary working conditions.
Ability to maintain a presentable appearance & demeanor
