HarborChase of South Portland is a newly built luxury senior living community offering Assisted Living and Memory Care. We are seeking a dynamic, conscientious person to join our hospitality team as our Bistro Manager. Our ideal candidate will be outgoing and fun with a love of working with seniors. He or she must be a creative self-starter who can work with our Executive Chef to provide offerings that make our bistro and lounge fun places for our residents to spend time and enjoy delicious food and beverages. Our Bistro is open 7 days/week from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., so we are seeking one full-time manager and a part-time assistant.

Under the supervision of the Director of Hospitality, the Bistro Manager courteously and professionally serves residents and their guests breakfast, lunch and snacks upon request. He or she will be responsible for preparing daily specials and regular menu items as well as marketing them to residents, staff and guests. A creative thinker who can propose fresh, new ideas regularly would excel in this role. He or she will maintain inventory and keep a neat and orderly work area.

• Performs opening and closing duties for the bistro including food preparation and disposal and regular cleaning and sanitation.
• Prepares and courteously serves breakfast, lunch and snacks upon request.
• Creates daily specials and markets them throughout the community. Prepares signature items for special events.
• Maintains daily orders in POS system and ensures that accounts are billed appropriately.
• Notifies Director of Hospitality of any malfunctioning equipment
• Possesses the ability to work in a safe and alert manner
• Takes ownership of associate, resident and guest safety

Non-Essential Functions:

• Attends required community meetings and participates Life Enrichment activities when able
• Completes all required courses in adherence with HRA University
• Is prompt and able to perform the required duties of the position on a regular, predictable basis
• Becomes familiar and understands how to report a missing person using the Safe Return program or equivalent
• Becomes familiar and understands the steps for fire evacuation
• All associates are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all community residents

Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:

• Six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Must be able to communicate in a positive way with people and provide outstanding customer service.
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards and fire and safety procedures

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
