Job Summary

BioLegend has an opening for a self-motivated individual with production experience in a fast moving and dynamic environment to join our Proteogenomics team! The biotechnician will be an integral member of a team, that manufactures and provides high-plex oligonucleotide conjugated antibodies panels to enable studies for novel applications in precision medicine, oncology, immunology, neuroscience, and stem cell research.

This position will report to a team lead and will ensure the highest quality of our finalized antibody products. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment for you to enhance your knowledge in the biotechnology industry! In this position you will perform column chromatography manually and via automation, troubleshooting of problematic errors, continue to improve methodologies for efficiency, follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s, and cross train on a variety of other supporting tasks.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in performing various manufacturing related tasks including dispensing hi-plex antibody solutions, capping, crimping and labeling of vials
  • Formulate products per approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions including multi-component cocktail formulations
  • Perform antibody buffer exchange
  • Operate and help maintain manufacturing equipment including lyophilizer, automated liquid handler, labelers and others
  • Label and maintain inventory
  • Use computer programs including excel, lab and inventory management software
  • Perform concentration calculations and adjustments
  • Follow SOPs, batch records, and other compliance related documentation
  • Assist other employees and supervisor with basic lab activities such as: inventory, housekeeping, equipment cleaning, preventative maintenance, and calibration
  • Assist with other manufacturing/production-related duties as assigned
  • Other projects or responsibilities as may be required

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in Biology or related field or high school and 1+ years’ experience in a laboratory setting
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Computer proficiency with the ability to use Microsoft Office products
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • Experience with buffer preparation, dialysis, centrifugation, automated liquid handlers
  • Experience using inventory management software
  • Good time and management and planning skills
  • Familiar with ISO regulatory compliance requirements

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work at BioLegend in San Diego, California is $21.62 to $24.86 (hourly). The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. BioLegend is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
