Job title: Biological Science Technician
Location: Lajas, Puerto Rico
Travel: N/A
Duties:
- Evaluation of documentation submitted for the proposed restoration of the salt flats.
- Providing recommendations to the refuge manager.
- Participation in meetings, site visits and other coordination activities related to the project.
- Coordination of all activities related to needed permits for the project.
- Conducting migratory and resident bird surveys with an emphasis on the Cabo Rojo salt flats to ensure the availability of data.
Qualification/ Education:
- The applicant should have knowledge of wildlife inventories and databases using USFWS internal systems for inventory and monitoring projects for a variety of natural resources.
- The applicant should have knowledge in habitat restoration planning and activities and be able to provide technical support to researchers and refuge operations staff.
- The applicant shall have a valid Puerto Rico driver’s license.
