Job Duties:
- Submitting initial and re-credentialing enrollment applications for Medicare and Commercial Insurance
- Following up and checking the status of submitted applications with payors
- Track and follow up to obtain provider ID numbers and effective dates
- Develop a working knowledge of the payor enrollment process
- obtain NPI numbers, and update the NPPES database with current information
- Update CMS profiles, and the PECOS internet database
- Input data, update and maintain the CAQH database
- Maintain all necessary materials for credentialing, including Board Certificates, licenses, CME's, PPD testing, etc
- Posting of insurance payments posting and rejections
- Answer patient calls in a timely manner
- Resolve outstanding patient billing issues
- Ability to work independently
This position is to include medical billing duties and is in our central billing office located in Eatontown
Job Skills:
- Familiarity and comfort with practice management systems
- Candidates should have excellent communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of CAQH, PECOS, NPPES
- 3 years of Medical Billing / Collections experience
- Strong knowledge of appeals, ICD-10, CPT codes required
- Ophthalmology or ASC experience preferred, but not required
