Kooth US - Bilingual Mental Health Support Practitioner

Description
A role with Kooth is an exciting opportunity to join the pioneers of digital mental health and wellbeing. Kooth uses technology to remove any barriers that could prevent individuals from accessing the help they need, when they need it. As a member of the Kooth team you will be helping to provide youth, students, and adults with access to immediate and often crucial support.
Kooth is a fast-growing business with a social purpose. After 20 plus years of successful services in the UK, Kooth is rapidly expanding in the United States. Our mission is to provide welcoming and effective digital mental health support to individuals proactively.
Using the collective insight from nearly 1 million hours of professional intervention we guide individuals to three areas of evidenced-based support: self-guided, community/peer interactions, and chat-based counseling provided by licensed counselors. These areas of assistance are designed to match individual’s current wants, needs, and goals as well as identify and refer to higher levels of care when needed.
While users of Kooth’s platform have 24/7 access, live services, including chat and messaging will only be offered during peak times to meet user needs thus scheduling will be flexible including evening and weekend opportunities. There are opportunities for part- and full-time roles.
What you’ll do: You will be at the heart of what Kooth is doing.
You will:
- Provide timely response to incoming messages from service users aiming to support them in navigating the platform and signposting to the most appropriate services.
- Review service user data including assessments and goals to determine the most appropriate service pathway for their individual needs and wants.
- Direct users to appropriate services including self-guided activities, peer support community, local/national resources or scheduling a chat counseling session with a Kooth clinician.
- Escalate identified risk cases per protocol to our Senior Practitioners and Clinical Lead.
- Provide moderation services for content created by users by reviewing per moderation and safeguarding protocols.
- Perform all duties in line with relevant compliance, legal requirements and internal policies with particular reference to safeguarding.

Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Health field (Psychology, Sociology, Health, etc.)
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Prefer experience working with individuals through digital means.
- Demonstrable experience of providing mental health support to children and young people (10-25 years) in a face to face or digital setting, using a strengths based approach.
- Experience in safeguarding children and young people, and clear knowledge in safeguarding policies and legislation.
- Ability to identify and employ mechanisms of clinical governance as appropriate to support and maintain practice in the face of regular exposure to highly emotive material and challenging behavior.
- The ability to work remotely with a strong internet connection and competent, confident use of technology.
