Position Summary:
JOB TITLE: Bilingual HR Generalist – Personalization Mall
REPORTS TO: HR Director
BUSINESS/LOCATION: Bolingbrook, Illinois
OVERVIEW:
The HR Generalist is responsible for implementing HR policies and programs and managing all aspects of employee relations and development. Together with the HR Director, they will create and execute HR strategies, initiatives and programs that effectively support the values and corporate objectives of the 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. brand.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and manage employee relations and performance management
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations; anticipate problems whenever possible, and develop, recommend, and initiate appropriate steps for resolution
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal department as needed/required.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, career development, disciplinary actions)
- Work closely with associates to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
- Manage the Leave of Absence process (FMLA, ADA, etc.)
- Manager the Workers Compensation process through Liberty Mutual
- Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
- Manage the new associate Onboarding process
- General office management duties including distribution of checks, Covid screening, ordering badges and supplies
- Support and manage the implementation of special projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of experience in the Human Resources field
- Knowledge of federal and state legislation (EEO, ADA, Family Medical Leave, Employment Law)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to build strong partnerships; collaboration
- Ability to deal with ambiguity
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi task
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Self-motivated and driven for results
- Must be Bilingual- Spanish
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree Required
