The New York State Unified Court System, the judicial branch of the state government, is one of the largest and busiest court systems in the world. Its workforce of 16,000 dedicated judges and non-judicial employees serve the public by providing just and timely resolution of all matters before the courts.

The Division of Human Resources provides support services and consultation to judges, court administrators, court personnel, and the public. This position will be responsible for providing benefits administration services including the determination of eligibility, the communication and explanation of available coverage, processing of enrollments/terminations and the resolution of claim issues. This position will also inform and guide employees on benefits matter regarding eligibility and coverage.

Typical Activities, Tasks and Assignments:

· Provide high level customer service to employees and their dependents answering questions and researching/resolving problems with their questions and issues surrounding benefits, insurance coverage and claims.

· Enter transactions including new enrollments, address changes, terminations, leaves, transfers into benefits database, run reports as requested.

· Prepare and process employee related retirement and benefit deductions and adjustments for payroll processing.

· Assist with the design, content, and distribution of materials for benefits orientations and open enrollment.

· Review full benefits package with all new hires during orientation and provide all the required forms.

· Investigate and resolve questions regarding delivery and payment for services by contacting health care professionals and other service providers, benefit plan providers, and employees.

· Maintain and update employee benefit files, benefit database, and other record keeping, ensuring the accuracy of benefit enrollments and corresponding payroll deductions.

· Provide training and act as a liaison to the local Human Resources associates on benefit rules and regulations.

· Assist with audits to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Job requirements:

· Working knowledge of employee benefits administration and various benefit programs.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

· Familiarity with HRIS and benefits software systems.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources or a related field, and 1 year of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 3+ years benefits experience. Civil Service and union experience is also a plus.

Salary: $57,166 Annually

Location Pay: $4,300
