Job description
We are hiring a Behavioral Specialist/Mobile Therapist to support UPMC - Behavioral Health of the Alleghenies.
The Behavioral Specialist/Mobile Therapist provides ongoing mental health treatment, behavioral consultation and therapy to children and families in the home or community setting. Tasks will be performed in a manner consistent with efficiency, cost effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
This is a community-based position in Blair County, and the incumbent will spend the majority of working hours in the field. The shift for this position is primarily Monday-Friday with days and evenings required.
The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail and time management skills in addition to experience working with children/teens in the behavioral health field. This is a great opportunity for a candidate looking to join a small, supportive team that serves the community.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all HNA and BHRS program regulations.
- Assistance or other applicable insurance payor.
- Conduct therapeutic and behavioral assessments and interventions in the client's natural environment (i.e. home, school, and community).
- Inform clinical supervisor of changes to client's treatment status.
- Document all client-related contacts.
- Maintain established program productivity standards within a two-week pay period.
- Meet with assigned TSS bi-weekly or as deemed needed by the clinical Supervisor for consultation and clinical direction.
- Monitor voicemail every 48-72 hours or deemed necessary by clinical supervisor.
- Monitor and stay within Medical Assistance allotted hours per month/client.
- Attend all in-services, educational/skills trainings, staff meetings, supervision that are either mandatory by HNA or requested by the program supervisor.
- Review Psychological Evaluation and Plan of Care Summary before beginning a case and at the start of each authorization period.
- Submit signed MA Encounter form every month to Financial Services Secretary.
- Inform existing providers serving the client of MT/BSC's intent to start services.
- Demonstrate support of the Agency mission and philosophy in the delivery of services.
- Complete performance self-evaluation yearly.
- Promote personal and co-worker safety during work duties.
- Schedule treatment sessions with the client and or family on a regular basis.
- Maintain regular contact with other client treatment providers (School, Psychiatrist, Intensive Case Manager, etc.)
- Work to achieve and maintain quality and customer satisfaction in the delivery of services to external/internal customers.
- Monitor client authorization dates to assure services are authorized by Medical
- Develop and implement an individualized, strength-based treatment plan 2-4 weeks after opening a case and update the treatment plan every 120 days.
- Submit progress notes every 48 hours and batch sheets every Saturday by 9 a.m. to Department Assistant.
- Maintain and protect client and agency confidentiality.
- Evaluate readiness for discharge and complete client discharge within 5 days after the client is discharged.
- Complete all paperwork documentation according to HNA and Pennsylvania Mental Health regulations.(e.g. incident reports, C&YS 47, etc) on a timely basis.
- Participate in quarterly program client review
- Notify family and all service providers when unable to maintain a scheduled visit. (i.e. School, TSS, etc.)
- Maintain confidential documentation of client records.
- Represent and participate in Agency professional and community activities as requested.
- Master's level Mental Health Clinician with a minimum of two years counseling experience with children.
- Access to transportation in the Agency services area with a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and auto liability insurance.

- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
