Minimum Salary: This professional position follows the Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule (Based on education and experience starting at Bachelor's Step 1 - $50,920).

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Capital Area Intermediate Unit (CAIU) is looking for a Behavior Consultant to work at Hill Top Academy. The successful candidate will support staff in building systemic behavioral supports across classrooms and groups, as well as, by working on individual student cases.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Education Required: Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Education. A Master's Degree is preferred. Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) (or advanced coursework in behavior, or behavior, or willingness to complete coursework upon hire,)

Experience Required: Experience in Autism support and Emotional support programming, including the Competent Learner Model (CLM), Verbal Behavior (VB) and/or PEAK is preferred. At least five (5) years of successful experience working in an educational environment, in the field of autism and/or Emotional support with students with mental health or emotional issues, in special education environments, in consultative models, as a community liaison having experience in diverse educational settings, or in a wide variety of service delivery models. At least five (5) years of specific experiences and skills related to behavioral, data collection, and analysis or treatment plans.

Other Qualifications: Experience leading positive behavior support initiatives, coaching educators in the collection, analysis, and use of behavior data to make instructional decisions, conducting functional behavior assessments and analyses, and writing positive behavior support plans as required.
