Job Description?

We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer for our customer near Hanscom, MA. In this role, you will be part of the development team responsible for implementing and managing cloud application solutions, upgrades, migrations and change request on client cloud environments. The DevOps Engineer will support the DevOps team by tracking and reporting on engineering projects and initiatives to ensure alignment between IT operations and the business. You will need to communicate technical ideas with non-technical stakeholders in a simple and understandable manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create, implement and assist the development of scripts to automate operations.
• Maintain and monitor DevOps environments based on the clients requirements.
• Responsible for configuration and setup of backups as well as set up automated AWS patching for Windows.
• Collaborate with Software Development teams, Project Managers to ensure efficient deployment of systems.

Required Skills

• BS in Information Systems, Computer Science or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to write Python Scripts and Python programming experience.
• Ability to manage mainstream cloud service utilizing Terraform.
• Proven technical knowledge with Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform and Google Cloud monitoring.
• Strong understanding of DevOps architecture, deployment and tools.
• Knowledge of GitLab functionality.
• Familiarity with AWS Lambda serverless computing platform is a must.

Security Clearance Requirement

• Candidates must possess an Active DOD Secret (or equivalent) clearance.

• Strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
• Strong documentation and writing skills.
• Ability to work project tasks to completion with little to no supervision.
• Ability to translate complex technical terminology and concepts into terms that are easily understood by all stakeholders; both technical and non-technical.
• Self-motivated, highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task.
