Auxiliary Assistant
Job Objective
The objective for the position of Auxiliary Assistant is to provide additional assistance to the residents and staff>>>>
Essential Functions
- Provide assistance to the C.N.A.’s – no resident weight bearing
- Answer call lights
- Assist with 15 minute visual checks-utilizing AA checklist tool and ensuring assigned CNA receives completed checklist for documentation
- Assist residents in wheelchairs to and from dining rooms
- Help in dining rooms (pass drinks/take orders, serve meals)
- Take meal orders and serve meals to residents who choose to eat in their room
- Make beds
- Pass ice water and snacks to residents without modified diets
- Be sure resident rooms are neat and tidy (clean night-stands and bedside tables, empty trash, etc.)
- Ensure that personal items are charged out as necessary
- Ensure that all personal items are labeled, bagged, and in nightstand
- Ensure rooms and shower rooms are fully stocked (gloves, personal hygiene items, etc.)
- Follow facility policies to ensure resident safety at all times – following In-services regarding all resident safety policies and complete orientation
- Wheelchair cleaning
- AA will perform NO direct patient care, i.e., lifting, transferring, incontinent care or feeding
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- Must be able to meet any physical requirements of the functions of this position
- Must apply for scholarship program and complete CNA course and testing within 6 months of hire

This position is supervised by C.N.A. Supervisor and Charge Nurse, under the direction of the Director of Nursing
