Automotive Tire Installer

• The job is located in Pell City, AL.

Shift: 1st and 2nd Shift

Basic purpose of position:

• Operating a car lift
• Balancing tires
• Tire alignments
• Mounting tires to rim

Starting pay:

• 1st Shift - $16.00 per hour to start
• 2nd Shift - $17.00 per hour to start

Responsibilities:

• Identifies appropriate tire size and ply; inflates tires to proper air pressure based on product information
• Identifies counterweights required to balance wheels with the use of balancing machines attaches counterweights onto rims
• Perform damage free installation of tires
• Post installation inspection

Education Requirements:

• High School education or ability.

Experience Requirements:

• Mechanical experience with minor automobile repair and accessory install

Skills, Licenses, Certification, and/or Special Training:

• Must maintain a valid state driver's license if required to operate company equipment;
• Meet and maintain all requirements contained in the Conditions of Employment policy.

Physical, Mental & Sensory Requirements:

• Ability to constantly work in an indoor/outdoor environment, exposed to all weather elements, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditions;
• Constantly required to use bending, kneeling, twisting and walking motions on uneven surfaces throughout entire work shift;
• Constantly perform prolonged standing and/or walking at a rapid in an 8 hour shift;
• Possess physical strength and agility to constantly lift automotive tires and rims throughout shift;
• Ability to rarely lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
• Ability to push and pull at a force of up to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to hear and communicate, work or safety instructions spoken in a normal voice;
• Ability to read Vehicle Identification Numbers and other shipping documents;
• Must have visual acuity and normal depth perception in both eyes to inspect and drive motor vehicles in limited lighting to include night/dusk and inside plant operation
• Must be able to work independently
