Summary

Under general supervision, performs more complex automotive repairs and/or service. Maintains a safe working environment and performs work according to established safety standards. Performance goals are set by production, quality and customer service scores when possible. Employees must supply their own tools and use shop supplied diagnostic equipment.

Essential Functions

• 
  Performs the job while following all AAA and industry safety guidelines as well as following Fleet's policies and procedures.

• Performs vehicle inspections, oil changes, and other routine maintenance related services.

• Performs vehicle repairs such as, brake services, tune-ups, timing belt services, air conditioning inspection and repair.

• Complete work orders to include, but not limited to, parts, requisitions, diagnostics reports, inspection forms and recommendations.

• Assists other technicians as assigned.

• Maintains clean and orderly work area.

• Returns the shop supplied equipment to proper locations, ready for other technicians to use.

• Ensures equipment is available for use and meets DOT compliance standards by completing preventive maintenance schedules, and installing component and part upgrades.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Clear and proficient verbal and written communication even under pressure.

• Common knowledge of vehicle components and the common reasons for vehicle failure.

• Demonstrates problem solving and listening skills as well as the ability to discern safety issues and respond appropriately.

Education & Experience/Licenses & Certification

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 2 - 4 years experience in inspecting and repairing cars and light trucks

• Automotive trade school certification or equivalent experience

• Valid Driver's License and satisfactory 39 month driving record

• ASE certified in A9 and at least 2 other areas or equivalent dealership certifications (If not, certified, you will be required to get certified within 1 year of hire)

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

Works outdoors at vehicle sites when servicing vehicles. Lifting and carrying tires and parts, weighing up to 50 pounds, several times a day; bending, kneeling and stooping as required for service calls. Works in all weather and all traffic conditions. Vehicle recovery sites may be wet, messy and hazardous. Service Providers are required to provide a photograph for identification purposes.
