ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Participate in training, embrace concepts of and actively practice the STOP Safety Program fundamentals to aid American Packaging Corporation’s efforts to achieve a zero-incident rate.
- Individual must be very self-motivated, have the ability to work independently, and take proactive steps towards solving identified problems. Must also be very willing to take on new projects as they develop.
- Drive 5S and complete required cleaning tasks - some daily, weekly, or monthly requirements.
- High Aptitude for learning multiple positions in a cross functional department. Pay increases are based off proficiency targets
- Launch cylinders into all branches of workflow
- Participate in Help Chain for troubleshooting of staffed and unstaffed shifts of the Engraving Operation.
- Aptitude in the use of precision measuring devices (i.e., micrometers, profilometers, dial indicators, etc.)
- Provide first level assessment and resolution for production issues in the Engraving Operation including applicable reporting.
- Responsible for resolving any issues within the engraving process. Ensure the smooth operation of the automated line for on time delivery of engravings.
- Coordinate and prep bases to be shipped to Deforest and Returned to the Columbus towers.
- Proficiency in operating all equipment within the engraving line
- Full understanding of the quality characteristics of an engraving and the relationship of each process step in their achievement.
- Complete digital records and shift reports as required
- Understand and navigate the computer control station of the Engraving Operation. Sequence the various production tasks to deliver schedule requirements.
- Perform daily inspection, calibration, adjustment, and repair of the quality assurance equipment of the Engraving Operation.
- Insure daily that consumables related to Cylinder Preparation are at target levels. Submit material requisitions as needed.
- Train new Auto Line Techs
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
