United Concrete Products, Inc. in Wallingford, CT is currently seeking an AutoCAD Designer to join our team. The desired candidate will have complete a program that utilized AutoCAD software. The candidate should be self-motivated and goal oriented, demonstrated good oral and written communication skills, takes pride in his/her work and achievements, and have the desire to develop their own career.
Responsibilities include preparing standard layouts, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams. Candidate also needs to have a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Utilize AutoCAD to develop detailed designs of various precast concrete products (ex. bridges, ramps, etc.)
- Develop full detailed shop drawing sets, checking dimensional accuracy of parts, material and equipment being utilized, relation of one part to another, and relation of structure to its surroundings
- Responsibilities include creating detailed plans, elevations, sections and associated details of precast concrete products
- Drawing development includes full annotation, dimensioning, computing angles, weights, surface areas, clearance, etc.
- Drawing sets created from various sources including conceptual drawings, sketches and profiles
- Required to work closely with the Engineering team to meet the overall project requirements, schedule and client expectations
Qualifications:
- Completed degree or certificate program utilizing AutoCAD software (required)
- Proficient in AutoCAD is required. Must be able to work in the Paper Space/Model space environments. Capable of layering management, scale, paper space viewport creation, X-referencing, plotting and basic drawing setup. 3D drafting a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work on a team and also independently
- Ability to prioritize and to work on multiple projects concurrently while being flexible and able to adapt to a fast paced and ever changing environment
