The Associate Director of Operations for the Long Island Educational Opportunity Center is responsible for overall operations and facilities compliance for LIEOC facilities and satellite locations.â They will be responsible for all procurement practices related to sites and satellite facilities. This includes vendor estimates and qualifications meet College guidelines and requirements. The Associate Director of Operations will oversee all personnel assigned as operational staff at all sites, including site administrators, receptionists, and maintenance personnel.â

Responsibilities include interacting with building owners, as well as campus officials to ensure facilities are safe and meet all necessary federal, state and local codes. Duties include adherence to compliance laws and practices for maintaining and operating a facility.

Additional Duties:

  • Oversees grant submissions, grant implementation, and grant budgets. He or she is the lead supervisor for the LIEOC for grants. He or she also serves as a member of the grant writing team.
  • Acts as the liaison for the LIEOC and the sponsoring institution. Examples of areas where this relationship exists are Maintenance, Physical Plant, Administration and Finance, and Purchasing.
  • Oversees the following LIEOC departments: Instructional Technology, and Marketing and Recruiting.
  • Represents the LIEOC and the Executive Director/Dean in their absence.â
  • Works with the LIEOC Executive Director and the sponsoring institution's Administration and Finance department and the legal office for all LIEOC contracts, agreements, Memoranda of Understanding, collaboration documents, and other LIEOC legal document requirements.

The Associate Director of Operations reports to the Executive Director/Dean of the LIEOC.

There is a downstate cost of living stipend negotiated for full time union members living in downstate NY. It is in addition to the posted salary and is currently $3,026 per year.

Job Requirements:


MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • 3- 5 years of facilities management.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with building systems, HVAC, etc.
  • 3-5 years experience with adult education.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree in related field.
  • Bilingual.
  • Senior level supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

This is a full-time UUP position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Thursday, June 9, 2022 and ending Wednesday, June 22, 2022,â UUP Farmingdale applications will be given priority.
