The Associate Director of Alumni & Constituent Engagement, reports to the Executive Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement. The Associate Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of alumni affinity programming which will include more than 200 alumni and constituent stakeholders, the potential of expanding to more than 8 different councils and networks that function and operate year-round and in turn produce more than 50 committee meetings and events annually. (i.e. Emerging Leaders, International, Women’s Leadership, Wall Street Council, Parents Leadership Council, Global Alumni Council etc.) Expanding affinity groups will significantly and strategically increase opportunities of engagement and philanthropic support of the University while creating more meaningful relationships among constituents as well as with Bryant University.

Principal Accountabilities

- Designing and executing regional events and programs that feature high potential alumni and/or signature academic programs. This will include working with development leadership to plan and execute Wall Street Council programs, regional campaigns, and post campaign events in major metropolitan areas, and select small dinners and gatherings coordinated with development prospects.
- Recruiting and engaging Class Steering Committee members for annual reunion classes, with a major emphasis on the key 25th or 30th reunion classes with high giving potential. Work collaboratively with The Bryant Fund to promote increased reunion giving, with an emphasis on participation. Provide staff support to reunion program development and class outreach through conference calls and mailings.
- Collaborating with the Alumni Engagement team in working to recruit, cultivate and deploy regional alumni network volunteers in areas with high development potential. Manage volunteer committees in Boston and New York and ensure compliance with annual giving and volunteer commitment with participation goals.
- Serving as independent contributor for Alumni publications such as Engage, broadcast emails and social media posts.
- Participating in the planning and execution of Bryant’s signature campus events including Alumni Achievement Awards and Alumni Engagement Day and Reunion@Homecoming.
- Assisting in the supervision of student support staff.
- Performing related duties as assigned.
This position is best filled by an individual who has over 10 years progressively responsible alumni and/or development experience. A public relations orientation; ability to interact effectively with large groups and on a one-to-one basis; strong organizational skills; and strong oral and written communication skills are required. The ability to motivate volunteers is important, as is the ability to cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with alumni, key donors and volunteers, faculty, and the development staff. Evening and weekend hours required. Travel is required. Certain requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate persons with disabilities
Working Environment
Regular attendance at assigned job site and the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers and constituents are essential functions of this position. Due to the nature of the work, evening and weekend hours are required for staff events.
