Our mission is to provide a comprehensive infant, toddler and preschool curriculum based on best practices and research on early brain development and learning. As we provide an enriched, stimulating environment, filled with child-initiated learning experiences, children are offered the opportunity to learn and develop the skills, attitudes and knowledge necessary to becoming independent, productive individuals.
Little Stars Daycare Center provides a safe, caring homelike atmosphere for children, while providing for their physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. Our teachers operate as a little community and have the ability to create meaningful and close relationships with the children and parents. We are located in Golden Valley at our Meridian and Orion Service’s Corporate Office. Little Stars is licensed for 10 infants and toddlers combined and 9 preschoolers. We typically have 4-5 infants attending and 4-5 toddlers per day. Our daycare provides quality care and education for our employees’ children and residents of Golden Valley, MN. Our employees work through Meridian, Orion or Zenith Services.
Hours: Monday- Fridays between the hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (We have full time and part time options)
Location: Golden Valley, MN
Compensation: $17 per hour
About the Teacher's Aide or Assistant Teacher Position
We are looking for a teacher's aide or assistant teacher who want to be creative, make fun art projects, help our children develop physically, emotionally and socially, play patty cake, have dance parties, plant a garden and watch it grow! At Little Stars, we believe in teaching children through not only curriculum but also through everyday play opportunities.
At Little Stars, our staff supervises and plays with the children, teach children acceptable socialization skills and focus on learning the alphabet, colors, numbers, attend to children’s needs, create art and craft projects with the children, and discussing development with parents. This position will primarily be working with the infants but at closing time, will combine with the toddlers and/or preschoolers.
Job Duties:
- Following weekly curriculum for the children
- Art and craft projects
- Work closely with families
- Feeding, playing, cuddling
- Ensure health and safety of children
- Assist in daily cleaning tasks of the center
- Attend childcare trainings
- Engage and encourage children to develop physically, emotionally and socially.
Requirements:
Teacher's Aide-
16 years of age or older
Successful clearance of DHS background.
Assistant Teacher-
An assistant teacher must work under the supervision of a teacher, must be at least 18 years old, and meet one of nine possible combined credential, educational and experience requirements; for example, a high school diploma with 2,080 hours of experience as an aide or intern and 12 quarter credits in a child care-related area of study.
