Hirschbach Motor Lines account at the Lineage Facility in Olathe, KS is poised for growth. Because we are known for exceptional customer experiences, we are looking for an Assistant Site Manager (8am-5pm, Monday through Friday) who can be the face of our company, providing attentive service at every turn. Our ideal candidate will be well-versed in all areas of the business, with specialized skill in trucking operations, training personnel, scheduling, delegating, and motivating. they will be an inspiring team member ready to ensure productivity and quality performance to achieve out long-term vision.
Objectives of this Role
- Gain a complete understanding of specific goals, objectives, and audience
- Help build a well-developed and high-performing team that works together collaboratively
- Collaborate with the team to ensure the company is providing consistently excellent service, and that the environment is inviting and well looked after
- Set daily employee objectives and schedules to achieve and exceed customer productivity and efficiency goals
- Monitor employee performance and report on progress
- Adhere to department policies and procedures
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Partner with senior manager to ensure quality customer service and supervisor a team with diverse talents and responsibilities
- Conduct regular yard audits using a YMS during the shift
- Frequently interactions with drivers out on the yards during their shift
- Communicate with the customer
- Problem solving
- Meet regularly with management to report and plan strategic plans for team objectives
- Manage controllable expenses and supplies within approved budgets to achieve profitability targets
- Fill in for senior management in their absence, managing driver schedules, attending customer meetings, and truck maintenance
- Monitor customer and client satisfaction, and quality assurance, reporting any problems, accidents, unsafe conditions, or equipment trouble to management
- Track employee performance
- Coaching drivers
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience in supervisor or management roles
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience onboarding and training new hires
Preferred Qualifications
- Class A-CDL is required
- LTL, Spotting, and Shuttle operation knowledge
- Proficient with a YMS
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- Comfortable leading team-building initiatives
