Company Overview:
Landcraft Growers, LLC is located on the Delmarva Peninsula just North of Easton MD, 45 minutes from Annapolis and Delaware Beaches. We are a wholesale grower of annuals, tropicals and perennials. We grow a broad variety of plants and offer multiple programs to our customers throughout the year. We sell a majority of our product to IGC’s, Public & Botanic Gardens, Estates, Municipalities and Landscapers. We have seen a tremendous increase in the use of tropical plants among gardeners of all stripes over the years. Our aim is to remain at the forefront of this trend and introduce new and exciting plants every year.

Role and Responsibilities:
Assistant Grower

• Work alongside Head Grower to schedule crop care in a timely fashion to ensure the highest quality for our customers
• Use fertilizer BMP’s and make decisions based on the needs of the crop
• Oversee irrigation and instruct assistant growers when necessary
• Oversee greenhouse environmental controls and adjust set points as necessary with Head Grower
• Pesticide management, use IPM BMP’s to manage pest populations
• Maintain pesticide application records
• Assist with ordering chemical, PGRs, fertilizer and other materials necessary to plant growth
• Assist in research and development; new plant material evaluation and marketing ideas
• Assist with maintaining quality control standards
• Record fertilizer, PGR and pesticide application on crop action cards
• Attend weekly production meetings

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Must have greenhouse/nursery experience or experience in a related field of horticulture. A formal education is not required as some of the best growers learn by spending their days in the greenhouse. Must be willing to obtain a MD Pesticide Applicators License within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of common floriculture crop culture. Understand pH, alkalinity, and water quality. Be able to mix fertilizers, pesticides, and fungicides. Diagnose the 5 major greenhouse pests.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
