SUMMER CAMP SEASONAL STAFF NEEDED

Founded in 1903 Catholic Charities remains among the largest and well-respected social service agencies with programs and offices located throughout the greater Boston area. We offer over 70 programs and services to individuals in 23 locations. We are a mission driven social service organization, some services include outpatient counseling, food pantries, childcare, refugee and immigration support, education, residential and recovery support.

We are seeking seasonal camp Assistant Group Leaders or the Child care program located in Peabody.

The Summer camp Assistant Group Leaders assists and supports the Group Leader, and may participate in the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate program experiences for an assigned group of children. The Assistant is always under the direct supervision of the group leader
.
Responsibilities:

• Maintain constant visual and auditory supervision of children, indoors and out
• Document and communicate to the supervising Group Leader observed behaviors and situations of concern
• May observe and document children’s progress
• Follow health, safety and housekeeping procedures, and assist in maintaining an inviting classroom environment
• Provide child guidance and behavior management according to the program’s policies and procedures, and under the guidance and support of the group leader
• May participate in program planning, and assist in implementation
• May assist in preparation of materials, record keeping, or other assigned tasks
• Demonstrate respect for the cultural and socio-economic background of children and families

Qualifications:*

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions, make good judgments, and be reliable and dependable
• Exhibit sincere interest in working with young children

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
