Assistant Director of Sales (Hotel)- with potential for DOS in 18-24 months
Job description
Under the direction of the Director of Sales, the Assistant DOS is responsible for the overall development and implementation of the total sales effort for the hotel. The Assistant Director of Sales will be responsible for securing new accounts while maximizing profitability of the hotel and maintaining customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for making strategic recommendations regarding company offerings, packages, discounts, etc. This role works collaboratively with food and beverage department managers as well as Guest Services and Reservations; to ensure the overall client satisfaction as it relates to group business. The Assistant Director of Sales serves as a community ambassador for the resort group business. Essential functions of this job include but are not limited to:
Essential Functions
1. In collaboration with the Director of Sales and Catering; implements sales incentive programs by developing, executing and assigning sales goals for the team
2. Keeps current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and the competition
3. Works with the DOSC and GM to establish and adjust selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand
4. Participates in the recruiting, selecting, training employees and managing the performance of department employees
5. Networks within the community/ target market by attending workshops, membership organizations, establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, commitees and attending community events and functions
6. Initiate new sales by prospecting, qualifying leads and soliciting potential clients. Monitor achievement of objectives for the sales team and take appropriate action to correct shortfalls
7. Focus on personal sales efforts to achieve maximum revenue return from key accounts. Focus on achieving annual hotel revenue goals as agreed upon and established in the annual budget
8. Work with DOSC on designated reports required for department
