The School District of Amery is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Clubhouse Childcare. The mission of The Clubhouse is to provide quality care in a healthy, stimulating, safe, and nurturing environment. Our goals are to provide a supportive environment that allows children to learn through play and exploration; to develop their sense of self; to express themselves creatively; and to provide a welcoming environment that respects the uniqueness of every child and their family. We provide childcare for children 6 weeks to 4 years old, plus offer before- and after-school care and summer day camp for school-age children.

The Assistant Director of Clubhouse Childcare will efficiently and effectively plan, implement, and manage Clubhouse curriculum and assessment programs, and supervise before- and after-school childcare. Responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Clubhouse Childcare include:

  • Assure compliance with Wisconsin Department of Children and Families YoungStar childcare rating program.
  • Communicate all Clubhouse policies and regulations and to staff and enrolled families.
  • Supervise the planning and implementation of the program curriculum.
  • Provide for the safety and comfort of staff and children in the program.
  • Supervise Clubhouse staff and conduct and carry out personnel policies when director is absent.
  • Perform various record-keeping to maintain the operations of the program including parent payments, and reporting attendance and payments to other agencies as needed (WI Shares, St. Croix Tribal Child Care Program, etc.).
  • Meet with and correspond with parents as needed.
  • Maintain supportive and positive relationships with families and children.
  • Maintain the highest standard of professional behavior at all times.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with childcare teachers, school staff, and volunteers to meet the goals of the Clubhouse.
  • Assist Clubhouse staff with ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Provide orientation and training to new staff on curriculum, assessments, and portfolios.
  • Resolve day-to-day problems relating to staff, facilities, and requisitions.
  • Maintain accurate and orderly records/forms/files for each child enrolled.

A minimum of a Level 9 Registry Certificate (www.the-registry.org) or 5 years of childcare experience is required for this position. To apply, submit a complete application on WECAN including cover letter, resume, transcripts/certifications, and letters of recommendation.
