At DMU you will make a meaningful contribution to the dynamic future of Medicine and Health Sciences. DMU is seeking a an Assistant Director of Development who will develop and implement programs and strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward alumni and friends of Des Moines University. While traveling nationally, the Assistant Director of Development will develop donor-centered relationships with alumni, friends & donors that will generate funding for Des Moines University. The Assistant Director will also build relationships on campus with faculty, department chairs, and deans. This is a great opportunity to join our very talented Development and Alumni Relations team as we build and prepare for our new innovative campus launch in West Des Moines in summer 2023!
Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Raisers Edge or other CRM database knowledge preferred.
  • Experience at a university, college or the fundraising arena is preferred. Sales experience that includes face-to-face solicitation may also qualify.

Essential skills:

  • Good PC knowledge and skills; knowledge of computer-related office tools and database management.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and listening skills
  • Adaptability and able to work in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated initiative, drive & ability to manage time successfully and independently.
