Regional Controller

A national construction organization is seeking an Assistant Controller to support their branch in the NYC area. The goal is for this person to takeover the Controller seat in a couple years so there is a ton of room for growth! They are in office fulltime and offer flexible hours and a great work-life balance (rarely if ever do they work more than 40 hours a week.)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform invoicing functions for construction projects including AIA billing
  • Reconciling Job Cost Accounts
  • Input Project Budgets and reviews subsequent Cost Data
  • Maintain controls, processes and tracking of medium to long-term projects utilizing Percentage of Completion accounting
  • Monthly review of job cost activity ensuring consistent and proper coding
  • Handle and process all aspects of construction payables, including coding, processing contract award work sheets and maintenance of the job cost chart of accounts
  • Process contractor’s payment applications for monthly billings
  • Assist in the preparation of Joint Venture, Lender and company financial reporting requirements
  • Perform monthly close and related journal entries
  • Monitor fixed asset activity in detail
  • Generate month-end depreciation and amortization entries
  • Forecast division and project results
  • Monthly P&L review
  • Oversee Accounting Payable and Accounts Receivable function

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5+ years of construction accounting experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus pay

  • Construction: 3 years (Required)
