Assistant Controller - Full Time

The Assistant Controller is responsible for the review of accountants’ work; trend and variance analysis; assisting with preparation of financial statements for Prospect, ProMed, and managed entities; budget variance analysis (including FTE analysis). Managing the corporate accounting function and ensuring the company financial statements and technical accounting practices conform to accounting principles, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Job Responsibilities/Duties
- Review and approve journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliations for Prospect, ProMed, Full Risk and managed entities.
- Review and approve weekly accounts payable invoices for Prospect and ProMed ensuring that appropriate support is present, fully executed contracts are in place where applicable, W9’s are on file, and reimbursement policy is being followed.
- Assist Controller with preparation of month end close packages for Prospect, ProMed, and managed entities for distribution to Operations management, Holdings (Corporate), and managed clients.
- Prepare variance and trend analysis to assist with financial statement analysis.
- Assist with preparation of annual budget and interim projections and analysis.Monthly budget variance analysis with directors to highlight and explain any unusual variances. Communicate to Controller and CFO any significant variances. Identify cost saving opportunities.
- Coordinate and oversee the gathering of PBC items for external and internal audit reviews.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field required.
Minimum Experience: Four to six (4-6) years of general ledger experience, preferably with experience handling multiple entities. General ledger experience in the healthcare environment. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule. Ability to write business correspondence. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Pay: $140,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
