The Virginia Office of the Attorney General is seeking a highly-qualified attorney to join its Antitrust Unit. This individual will analyze, investigate, and prosecute suspected violations of state and federal antitrust laws, including the Virginia Antitrust Act, the Sherman Act, and the Clayton Act. In addition, this individual will provide legal advice and representation to state agencies regarding antitrust laws, including the defense of state agencies that are sued for alleged antitrust violations. This individual also will review proposed mergers and other transactions for their potential impact on competition. Secondary responsibilities may include analyzing, investigating, and prosecuting violations of consumer protection laws as needed. Must have excellent writing skills and be prepared to appear in the appropriate state or federal court in actions filed against alleged violators or in defense of state agencies. Will also assist in drafting official opinions, review proposed legislation, and work closely with counterparts in other states and federal antitrust agencies.

Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to analyze and manage complex enforcement cases; well-developed oral and written communication skills; and the ability to interact effectively with state/federal government officials, a diverse workforce, and the general public. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of litigation experience in state and federal courts, concentrating on antitrust matters. Must be admitted to the Virginia State Bar.
