Mechanical Technician - Churubusco

Basic Functions: Assemble and fit a variety of complex mechanical components in compliance to relevant engineering and/or technical specifications and perform de-bug, run-off, and installation activities to produce innovative automation solutions, equipment and systems

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Primary- Assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts/components to produce subassemblies, assemblies and systems using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment
  • Fits, aligns, calibrates and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and functional operating requirements; troubleshoot and/or repairs elements that do not meet requirements
  • Interface with various levels of the organization (Engineering / Project Management) to execute work flow priority and activities to effectively meet established project timelines
  • Secondary- Serve as an auxiliary resource in the assembly and integration of electrical/electronic components (panels and I/O devices)
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Job Shop, or equivalent, environment
  • 2 year Technical degree, preferred, High School diploma or GED with commensurate experience acceptable
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain procedures and documentation including; Safety,

Technical Specifications, Sequence of Operations, 5S / Maintenance, Job Manuals

  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, & interpret engineering drawings, pneumatic - hydraulic - electrical schematics
  • Understand tight tolerance mechanical assemblies
  • Tram surfaces and points to specified features
  • Machining experience, preferred
  • Have own basic set of tools (specialty tools supplied by the company)
  • Ability to travel for installation and service activities
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $27.00 per hour
