SUPERVISOR: Quality Manager

PRIMARY CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Continuous Improvement: Develop continuous improvement plans for Quality to provide improvements in capabilities, processes, systems, satisfaction, quality, cost, delivery, and safety using Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quality Engineer for Dishwasher Assembly Operations: Be the “go to” person for all assembly related quality issues in the dishwasher assembly process. Including compliance management to meet UL, NSF, ETL or other industry standards applicable to our assembly process.
  • Final Quality Testing (FQT): Track and respond to all commercial dishwasher FQT failures. Contain issues to prevent reaching the customer. Participate in diagnosing failures and drive issues to root cause. Assure corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
  • Nonconforming Manufactured Parts: Initiate MRR’s on internal manufactured defects. Quantify the defects & work closely with manufacturing Quality Engineers on the fabrication side of our business to summarize root cause & drive for solutions. Develop detection & prevention strategies to reduce down time & rework on the assembly line.
  • Supplier Quality Assurance: Develops and implements a comprehensive supplier receiving inspection, supplier quality and component inventory system for the commercial dishwasher product line. Monitor progress against plans. Resolve supplier quality issues in a timely manner. Assure supplier quality requirements and associated documentation are met. Assure United Laboratories and National Sanitation Foundation (UL and NSF) requirements are met on component parts to maintain Intertek’s Electrical Testing Labs (ETL) certification.
  • Identify alternate suppliers; evaluate, approve for supply, manage provisional purchasing: Identify new suppliers, seek quotes for pricing, evaluate & confirm specifications to requirements, audit suppliers when appropriate. Coordinate purchasing until supply chain is setup & stable. Assure alternate supplier parts meet UL, NSF, ETL or other industry standards.
  • Nonconforming Purchased Products: Responds to supplier quality problems. Work closely with Purchasing and Engineering to contain and resolve supplier quality problems. Leads MRR process related to commercial dishwasher components.
  • Receiving Purchase Part Inspection: Performs receiving inspection on component parts to support commercial dishwasher business. Respond to out of spec conditions in a timely manner. Maintains an appropriate receiving inspection sample plan. Train others in performing receiving inspection for back-up.

  • Able to effectively communicate with domestic and international suppliers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Quality emphasis preferred
  • Experience in a fabrication and product manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Lean/Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, Workout, etc.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • ASQ Certification; CQA, Certified Quality Auditor, CQE, Certified Quality Engineer
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May be required to lift up to 40 pounds or sit or stand for long periods of time

This position is Monday - Friday, preferably 7:00am - 3:30pm (will be flexible)

Starting wage: $60,000 - $75,000 per year

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
