The Boys & Girls Club of Hopkinsville-Christian County is looking for a DYNAMIC, FUN, and CREATIVE person to become our new Art Room Coordinator for our Elementary School age youth.

Under the direction of the CEO & Director of Operations, the Art Room Coordinator will be responsible for responsible for overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs with a focus on the Arts. Implement, supervise and evaluate all Arts programs for members ages K-6th grade. Programs will foster positive self-Identity; education, employment, social, emotional and cultural competencies; community and civic involvement; health and life skills and a moral compass.

Job Functions

• Effectively administer programs and activities for youth age K-6th Grade.
• Develop lesson plans, and implement programs according to the plans.
• Maintain an inventory of all program equipment and supplies. Recommend purchases.
• Display member’s artwork around the Club.
• Promote programs to members such as, but not limited to all types of dance, theater, singing, &, poetry
• Initiate new programs.
• Implement and enforce all Club rules and policies with the members.
• Ensure a safe, healthy and positive environment in the Art Room
• Maintain and utilize appropriate and adequate equipment for programs.
• Actively supervise and engage members at all times.
• Follow established policies and procedures of the Club.
• Model and encourage positive and constructive behavior of all members.
• Do safety checks of your program area and equipment and report any findings.
• Maintain and a clean and safe environment of assigned program area.
• Participate in scheduled staff meetings and trainings

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• May purchase program supplies.
• May be required to drive Club van periodically.
• May consult with parents concerning member and branch issues.
• Work with staff on special events to carry out programs in all departments.
• Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience in working with children.
• Knowledge of youth development.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to deal with the general public.
• Able to maintain strict confidentiality
• Valid State Drivers License

Environmental and Working Conditions

Must be available to work after school and on school breaks. Possess skills to maintain up-to-date bulletin boards reflecting needs and interests of Club/community teen population.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Physical requirements include: sight, hearing, standing for more than four hours each day, other physical requirements needed to complete essential functions of the position and other duties as assigned. Necessary mental requirements include: concentration and focus on teen outreach and membership objectives.

• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employee and provide documentation supporting this authorization.
• Employment with Boys & Girls Club of Hopkinsville-Christian County is "at-will." At-will employees are not guaranteed employment with Boys & Girls Club of Hopkinsville-Christian County for any set period of time.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.50 - $12.00 per hour
