Job Summary:

The Security Officer will protect people and property from possible criminal activity. The roles will be a duration of 12 hour shifts.

Compensation: Starting at $23 per hour

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Patrols and monitors an assigned area; reports suspicious activities to local authorities.
• Monitors surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors crowds.
• Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
• After business hours, checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.
• Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property.
• Reasonably detains persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.
• Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
• Operate own personal registered equipment with sound professional judgement in a safe manner.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Authoritative verbal communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and exercise sound professional judgement in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
• Ability to work with little to no supervision.
• Must have two (2) years of documented experience in the security or military industry.

Education and Experience:

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Required: At least two years of security / police experience, or two years of military experience on active duty or in the National Guard or reserve military forces.
• Required: Active Federal, State and Local Firearms permit(s) as applicable.
• Required: Must be bonded or have the ability to obtain bond under own name.
• Required: Have CLEET Armed Security Officer or Law Enforcement Officer credentials to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
• Required: Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Required: Must provide own equipment including registered firearm.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
• Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
• Must provide own equipment including registered firearm and operate with sound professional judgement.
