The Area Sales Manager plays an important leadership role in a defined geographic area and grows the usage of finance products and portfolio balances in that area.
What you'll do:
- Lead a team of sales professionals utilizing the company's Salesforce Effectiveness Program
- Work with the Area Manager to grow market share and gross margin
- Conduct on-site customer visits to promote company products and services
- Contact existing customers/vendors in person, by phone, or through electronic communication to further relationships and cultivate sales
- Participate in local and regional trade associations to create and further develop the company's presence in the marketplace and to network with existing and potential customers
- Network internally with company branches to promote awareness of company activities and support product information/applications
- Attend internal and external sales and product training sessions to advance sales skills and technological knowledge required to achieve both personal and company objectives
- 3 or more years’ experience in the green industry with extensive knowledge of irrigation, nursery, or landscape products and practices strongly preferred
- Must possess strong negotiating and selling skills and an understanding of re-wholesaling
- Bachelor’s degree in a business/management discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
