Hibser Yamauchi Architects (HY Architects), established in 1977, provides architectural design, planning and interiors services to clients in the educational, healthcare, and institutional market sectors. Our work includes designs for new construction and renovations as well as master planning.
Through our staff of 70+ and from our offices in Oakland and Davis, CA, HY Architects partners with clients to define, design and deliver projects that meet their goals. Our sustainable design approach focuses on supporting outcomes that give back – promoting academic success, providing healing environments and creating positive social outcomes.
We are looking to add people to our team who share our collaborative approach and will look to uncover all opportunities to improve a user’s experience, no matter the project. Specifically, we are currently looking for a Job Captain to join our Davis office and support our Healthcare clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Report to Project Manager and help oversee certain phases of project development.
- Coordinate the internal architectural project team and manage the work of others.
- Draft construction documents and provide red line corrections and updates to junior project members.
- Be responsible for design/completeness of construction documents including code compliance, and quality assurance
- Interact with external client side peers and attend planning and construction meetings as needed.
- Participate in site surveys and help train junior team members to handle.
- Support Project Managers on fee proposals, project schedules, work plans, and conceptual cost estimates.
- Understand project budget and assist in ensuring overall project success.
Qualifications and Required Attributes:
- Degree in Architecture required
- Preference to be working towards Architecture license
- 5+ years’ experience
- Proficiency with Revit
- Proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam
- Experience working on Healthcare projects
- Familiar with the HCAI and other regulatory agencies’ process, including agency submittals
- Have detailed understanding of construction documents including different systems, how those interact and how changes impact other parts of the project.
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative team attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Desire to grow professionally, learn new things and advance in architecture field
Salary
- Base salary $75K - $96K depending on experience, plus discretionary annual bonus
