Job description
The Architect Representatives will focus on Business Development for our Commercial and Trade Sales Teams. The position will promote the specification of Pella Products by the Architects and Design Firms.
The Architect Representative will develop business relationships with building owners, homeowner associations, public housing authorities, school boards, construction managers, and general contractors to gain entry in upcoming projects. The Architect Representatives mission is to open avenues through various activities that will provide opportunities to increase our commercial fenestration products market share.
$60,000- $70,000 Salary based on experience!
Requirements:- Generate business by leveraging/creating Business Development opportunities with architectural firms, building owners, homeowner associations, public housing authorities, school boards, construction managers, and general contractors that fit our products and services.
- Promote yourself and Gunton Corporation through membership, networking, and participating at Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), American Institute of Architects (AIA), Construction Specification Institute (CSI), and Business Network International (BNI) meetings/events.
- Initiate and market Gunton events within the Commercial Community to promote relationships with current Pella users and introduce us to new prospective business partners.
- Carry appropriate models, sales aides, and literature in vehicle in order to adequately be prepared when an opportunity arises to demonstrate our products and explain the value proposition to a prospective customer.
- Promote, schedule, prepare, and conduct box lunch programs in conjunction with outside Commercial Sales Representatives and Residential Sales Representatives as appropriate.
- When new products are introduced create a strategy and the tactics to introduce the items to the market.
- Procure copies of specifications and drawings on large jobs for outside Commercial Sales Representatives, or, if appropriate, complete Take-Offs and turn over to outside Commercial Sales Representative for pricing and quote follow-up.
- Assist Architects with writing project fenestration specifications.
- Interpret blueprints into Take-Offs and proficiently use Commercial Quoting Software to create an accurate quote resulting in a proposal/bid that can be presented to the project’s decision makers
- Utilize our Customer Relations Management Software to manage your activity, productivity and interaction with account coverage, documentation, and timely follow-up.
- Exhibit the highest standard of personal ethics at all times and adhere to all Gunton Corporation policies

- Reports to Regional Manager or Commercial Sales Manager depending on divisional structure
