Garden Spot Village, part of Garden Spot Communities, is currently seeking an Appliance Technician for a Full Time position working Monday-Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm!

What will I do in this role with Garden Spot?

As a Appliance Technician, supporting the Garden Spot Communities' mission will include the following responsibilities:

• Manages all aspects of residential and commercial appliance service, repair, and preventative maintenance.
• Manages and stocks appliance inventory and orders parts as needed.
• Participates in drywall repair and patching of drywall.
• Performs routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment (such as changing filters, equipment lubrication, and belt replacement)
• Cleans dryer exhaust vent lines.
• Participate in minor Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC repairs and diagnostics.
• Complies with established policies and procedures and maintains established standards and practices including the Compliance Program/Code of Conduct.
• Conducts periodic mechanical rounds and inspections of building systems and equipment.
• Interacts with contracted service organizations and representatives during routine service visits and corrective service calls.
• Participates as needed in construction planning and process.
• Performs various preventative and corrective repairs to building systems and equipment.
• Requests and work with contracted services and other department personnel as required.
• Assist in contractor communications including scheduling and pricing.
• Communicate with residents and staff on entry info, estimates, and other items as needed.
• Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Responds to fire alarm activations; participates in fire drills as needed.
• Responds to safety/security incidents.
• Assumes weekend and holiday duties on a rotating basis.
• Assumes potential on call needs.

What do I need for this role with Garden Spot?

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Work experience and/or technical training in appliance service.
• At least 3 years' experience in plant operation or maintenance work
• Working knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and communication systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and building plans.
• Possess a basic knowledge of NFPA Life Safety Code, DHS Code, OSHA, and requirements of regulatory agencies
• Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions
• Willingness to train and participate in ongoing staff development programs
• Must have valid driver's license
