Pay Range: $67,225.60-$81,244.80
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Behavioral Health Director in the implementation of clinical services to individuals.
- Assess patients’ needs for services and provide direct clinical services or referrals as needed. Assure that patients receive adequate assessment, crisis intervention and linkages for counseling and social services.
- Conduct Intakes and Brief Interventions to patients as needed.
- Provide direct services in crisis intervention, including suicide assessments, partner abuse, child and elder abuse screening and intervention, along with services pertinent to other legally required mental health reporting issue.
- Maintain current knowledge on optimal cost-effective treatment modalities and systems of care.
- Provide in-service training to staff on mental health topics and issues.
- Conduct appropriate follow-up activities to help patients in the implementation and modification of their service plan.
- Communicate by telephone with related agencies or personnel, regarding status of client’s treatment in a courteous and professional manner.
- Facilitate improvements to client care by sharing ideas/concerns and helping develop new processes to increase efficiency in the delivery of services.
- Develop and maintain an efficient referral system with the different Work Units of the Clinic.
- Maintain/document records/clients encounters in accordance with Policies and Procedures, regulatory agencies, contractual obligations and funding sources.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by direct supervisor.
Position Requirements:
- Master’s degree in clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology or counseling psychology from an accredited school.
- Registered as an Associate by the Board of Behavioral Science in California.
- Experience working with children and families strongly preferred. Knowledge of normal and atypical child development strongly preferred
- Demonstrated sensitivity to relate well with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles.
- Experience with – or strong interest in—providing services under a Whole Person Care model
- Ability to work effectively and respectfully in a multidisciplinary setting with a diverse group of professional and support staff
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to crises
- Working knowledge of crisis management techniques and suicide intervention.
- Working knowledge of social service resources available in Los Angeles County and reporting mechanisms
- Fluency in English, Spanish, Russian and Armenian a plus
