Our security system installers and technicians are responsible for the tasks associated with the installation, upgrade and repair of alarm systems, cameras, home automations and more for our commercial and residential clients. JOB SUMMARY
Entry level - will train on the job and at our Anchorage office. As a technician you will install devices OR troubleshoot and repair systems for residential and commercial customers. As an advisor to the customer, you will have the ability to solve problems, consult on system capabilities and ensure a great customer experience.
Focus will primarily be on standard residential and commercial alarm systems, CCTV and card access but may include other services on a case by case basis.
May travel out of town for work and training. Occasional after-hours customer support by phone or on site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all safety guidelines established by the company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
- Collaborate with external and internal customers to resolve issues and meet customer contract requirements and specifications.
- Work independently, following defined department plans.
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
- Maintain safe working practices and ensure area is clean and free of any possible dangerous situations.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS
- Nine year driving history with a clean record
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must pass a background check and have a clean record - background checks are reviewed throughout employment.
- Must not be the subject of a Domestic Violence Injunction/Order or have been convicted of a Domestic Violence Assault.
- Skill in interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, and dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.
- Experience installing / inspecting / repairing alarm and camera systems -- preferred
- Ability to read blue prints and schematic drawings -- preferred Ability to operate hand and power tools
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Ability to operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions from supervisors.
- Upon hiring must qualify for a State of Alaska guard license; see our website application for requirements and disqualifiers. Licensing includes a national background check and finger printing.
- Guardian sends employees for drug testing once hired, at random, and post incident. Marijuana use is against company policy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of alarm and CCTV technician training preferred
