GAT Airline Ground Support is seeking dynamic, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our team at the Hartsfield Jackson International Airport.

The position requires no prior experience and offers:

• Starting pay at $14.00 an hour

Job Summary

Baggage porters encompass transporting checked baggage to specified areas of the airport, lifting checked baggage on and off carts, containers, and conveyances. Transport checked baggage from designated x-ray/screening devices or hand search areas to the baggage conveyor belt. Load baggage as needed into tubs on the baggage conveyor belt. Transport oversized baggage and/or live animals from the baggage check-in area to the baggage room. Ensure and maintain a supply of baggage tubs for the conveyor belt at all times. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with time constraints to meet arrival and departure goals. A professional and positive image must be consistently displayed by the employee.

Responsibilities

• Baggage transporters must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
• Must be able to load and unload checked baggage, including oversized articles and live animals (minimum lifting requirement is 100 lbs.) unassisted within baggage check-in and baggage area of the airport.
• Transport over sized baggage and/or live animals on luggage carts and trucks from the baggage area of the airport.
• Monitor the supply of baggage tubs for baggage conveyor belts and maintain an adequate supply at all times.
• Perform other duties related to customer service and the processing of checked baggage as requested by management and airline customers.
• Able to work as a team or work independently without direct supervision
