Job Description:
Performs preventive, operative, and corrective maintenance actions on all assigned air traffic control equipment, communications electronic equipment, radios and recorders. Performs troubleshooting, installation, operation, calibration, and testing of assigned electronic and electro-mechanical, both standard and non-standard equipment used in support of air traffic operations. Subject matter expert for air traffic electronic equipment, systems/sub-systems, components, radios, and recorders.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical guidance to assigned personnel when unusual and/or complex problems are encountered
• Perform daily operational/functional checks on assigned electronic equipment IAW SOP
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure serviceability and operability of equipment
• Perform all needed adjustments, makes necessary repairs including but not limited to the repair or replacement of faulty electronic components or replacement of various subassemblies/assemblies found to be defective
• Perform system modification under direction of the Lead Technician
• Install electronic subsystems or other components as required to satisfy special operational and technical requirements
• Perform operational diagnostic tests to ensure that all systems and components are fully operational
• Perform inspections on major NAVAID systems prior to the equipment being restored to service where extensive repair or modification was accomplished
• Recommend modifications to eliminate recurrent malfunctions or failures and improve systems performance
• Maintain certification logs as required by FAA/Army regulations
• Insure equipment and component inventory is replenished, as needed
• Maintain a current and comprehensive Technical Library; catalogs, files, and publications
• Conduct comprehensive proficiency and qualification training
• Maintain employee training records
• Provide operational status briefings, reports, and documentation
• Maintain complete maintenance history documentation of all equipment and work orders
• Ensure maintenance records and forms are properly maintained
• Attends meetings as requested; provide subject matter technical advice and guidance concerning ATC communications and equipment status, needed repair actions, future projects, and future requirements
• Annually inventory, inspect, and verify assigned equipment accountability
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications
Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Possess a minimum of 3 years documented experience in the maintenance of ATCALS equipment
• Possess a valid FCC General Radio Telephone Operator's licenses
• Be physically able to lift approximately 50 lb. and perform other physical maintenance duties as needed

The successful candidate must be able to interpret civilian and military regulations and guidance. The candidate must be able to use good judgement in the performance of air traffic control operations and follow written/verbal instructions.The candidate must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
