Job Description:

Supervise school age children after school; assist with homework; implement daily lesson plans; promote a positive, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children after school and at all times; maintain Proper class ratio;
• Plan daily program (developmental activities) in detail for assigned age group; submit weekly lesson plans due by Thursday of each week;
• Assist with homework
• Place toys and materials at children’s level for their easy access;
• Assist in serving meals/snacks and sit with children while they eat;
• Check toys and equipment daily/weekly for their safe after school usage;
• Clean/disinfect the work environment including all equipment/toys daily according to center policies.
• Be familiar with and follow all center and State regulatory and After School policies and procedures;
• Report any special needs/problems, suspected child abuse to the Director/Assistant Director in a timely fashion;
• Communicate professionally and effectively with parents avoiding conflicts at all times
• Handle discipline according to center and regulatory policies;
• Perform duties as a after school team member carrying out additional assignments as requested by Director/Asst. Director;
• Attend regular staff meetings;
• Maintain BFTS hours 18 hours annual training;
• Follow APEC Personnel Polices, APEC Parent Handbook and APEC After School Enrichment Program Script
