A growing program providing afterschool enrichment and care to school age children grades K-5 in the Seacoast NH area. Seacoast Community School currently has opening for both Site Director and Group Leader qualified staff. These positions are part-time in nature, but for those that also qualify to serve as support in our ECE programs, they can be full-time hires as well. Position and rate of pay available do depend on whether you qualify under DHHS licensing as a Group Leader or Site Director.
SUPERVISION AND ACCOUNTABILITY: Accountable to School Age Program Director or Site Director
Responsibilities include direct care, being a strong member of our school age team, planning curriculum and more.

- General Responsibilities:
- Follows licensing guidelines to maintain a safe, age appropriate environment
- Adheres to the mission statement and program philosophy
- Follows agency policies, procedures and practices
- Attends and participates in bi-weekly staff meetings with entire staff as well as weekly staff meetings with site team
- Utilizes administrative staff as a resource for help
- Completes all required paperwork in a timely manner
- Assists in the general upkeep of classroom and shared areas
- Welcomes new ideas and demonstrates flexibility
- Performs duties in a timely and safe manner, as requested by site director or administrator
In addition, Site Directors have the following supervisory responsibilities: Age Group Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership to teaching staff
- Mentors new staff and act as additional support
- Acts as liaison between direct care staff and administration
- Problem solves solutions for staff coverage
- Facilitates communication between classrooms
- Co-chairs staff meetings
- Coordinates age group events and projects
- Collaborates on special projects
- Attends program meetings as needed
Qualified persons should have experience and / or education in ECE, EI. Ed or Recreation
Group Leaders minimum qualifications are: Meets minimum school age group leader guidelines required by the Bureau of Child Care Licensing, including the following:
- must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalency and one of the following:
- (1)total of 600 hours working with school-age children
- documentation of at least 3 credits in child development, education, recreation, or other relevant field of study, awarded by a regionally accredited college or university
- documentation that he or she is a certified coach; or
- documentation from or on file with the department that she/he was qualified as a group leader in a school-age program on or before the adoption of these rules in 2017.

Nutritious meals are cooked on-site and adhere to USDA guidelines. Our school-aged programs are housed in the local elementary schools throughout Portsmouth, as well as in Greenland’s Central School.
