Job Summary
- The Admissions Specialist II is accountable for accurate and timely registration of all patients while performing all necessary procedures to establish accounts and medical record numbers.
- The Admissions Specialist II verifies insurance coverage and limitations.
- The Admissions Specialist II is responsible for collection of deductibles/co-pays and coinsurance, and directing patients/families to the Business office/Financial Counselors for payment assistance options, and assisting patients/families/visitors with requests and questions.
- The Admissions Specialist II may contact Patient Access Pre-arrival if the patient is not scheduled or to assure that prior authorization and pre-certification is completed for some outpatient procedures.
- The Admissions Specialist II operates the switchboard for the hospital, provides paging services for hospital staff and medical staff, and responds to emergencies according to hospital emergency plans.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Schedule
- Varied Shifts: Every other weekend/holiday, occasional call time; 80 hours every 2 weeks.
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
- $17.50 - $21.25 per hour.
