Why does the job exist?

This position will assist the Deputy Warden of the Northeastern New Mexico Correctional Facility (NENMCF) with the day to day administrative duties, ensuring that all tasks delegated by the Deputy Warden are completed in a timely manner.

How does it get done?

Position will:

  • Schedule and take minutes for meetings
  • Answering phones
  • Maintain confidential documents

  • Customer service and serving client needs
  • Office management

Minimum Qualification

High School diploma or Equivalent and one (1) year of related experience in office administration. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.

Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with and supervision of inmates. Willingness to work in a correctional facility, may be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
