The Richard Bland College (RBC) of William and Mary is seeking a part-time Administrative Office Assistant within the Facilities Department. Reporting to the Executive Assistant for Operations, this position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Assistant. The successful candidate must be a dependable team-player with a proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines. This is a part-time position not to exceed 29 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assisting with answering telephone calls and taking messages
  • Receiving and sorting campus mail and delivering mail to various campus buildings daily
  • Providing special project work to support the department as needed
  • Refuel state vehicle fleet and maintaining mileage logs
Providing administrative level support to include creating/maintaining excel spreadsheets
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven customer service and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines
  • Intermediate level skills with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, tact, discretion, and a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.
  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures;
Working knowledge of accounting practices (debits/credits)
  • Experience providing administrative support.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty/staff member at RBC.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of administrative experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of eVA State Procurement System is preferred
